Business As Unusual (BAU)
The BAU workshop is a 5 day event primarily for those with management potential. It is the introductory event for initiating a personal growth plan to be supported with a mentor who also attends the last 2.5 days of the event. In the “Grow-Self/Grow-Others/Grow-the-Organization” paradigm, this event emphasizes “Grow-Self” aspect, with approximately 75% of the focus there, 20% on “Grow-Others”, and 5% on “Grow-the-Organization”. The foundation for Relational Leadership principles is established in this event, with personality change theory, human motivational and relations theory and practice, as well as introductions to basic management skill sets of delegation, prioritization, goal-setting, and time-management, and Life Balance.
Relational Leadership Workshop (RLW)
The RLW is a 2.5 day event primarily for new managers. It is typically the second event to build on earlier personal growth plans, and to accelerate them, and to expand the new leader’s understanding of their own growth areas, and how they can impact others. In the “Grow-Self/Grow-Others/Grow-the-Organization” paradigm, this event emphasizes “Grow-Self” and “Grow-Others” aspects, with approximately 60% of the focus on “Grow-Self”, 30% on “Grow-Others”, and 10% on “Grow-the-Organization”. The foundation for Relational Leadership principles is continued and expanded in this event, with Leadership Traits and 360 degree feedback being added into the leader’s resources for growth gained from previous BAU workshop’s.
Exceptional Customer Experience (ECE)
ECE is a 3.5-day Exceptional Customer Experience event for the core leadership team at a store. Most recently Putting People First (PPF) stores have been attending in preparation for the “Putting People First” event, which is conducted at a particular store’s location. ECE has growing self, growing others, and growing the business segments, with a primary outcome of connecting the core team from a store. Emphasis is placed on coaching, life mapping, operational excellence, and the power of three (i.e., ongoing core team meetings, building customer profiles, and giving first initiatives).
Manager Mentoring Workshop (MMW)
An MMW is a concentrated mentoring workshop, partnering a manager and their mentor over 2.5 days in focused efforts addressing specific areas of needed growth. These areas can include all aspects of “Grow-Self”, “Grow-Others”, and “Grow-the-Organization”. Visitations to the manager’s physical business location are conducted, with extensive assessments of “core” team relationships, delegation, and motivational methods. A series of follow-up visits are conducted to ensure support and successful implementation of growth plans.
Next Level (NL)
Our Next Level events are a follow-on to the MMW's, but serving a larger group from the Manager's team, typically six (6) people sometimes called the "Core Team" from a retail store or site. This workshop brings a strong component of team building and mutual support and accountability as they focus more deeply on practical applications of conflict resolution, delegation, and on-going mentoring of performance. This event helps the Manager/Leaders take their core MMW growth areas to the Next Level for both themselves, as well as in their team.

Putting People First (PPF)
PPF events are one-day introductory workshops held in the local market of the manager for key customers. Customers are exposed to the basic tenets of Relational Leadership, and provided insights and techniques for improving their own efforts to engage their own customers. This event provides excellent opportunity to “Give First” to customers and to include them on the “inside” of the intentionality of the manager’s BAU culture.
Top Ten Relational Needs
Foundational to BAU is the principle that “People Need More Than What You Are Selling”, and the Top 10 Relational Needs are the most common examples of “what” people need in every relational interaction. This is a key area for understanding one’s own motivations, as well as those of others. Strong emphasis throughout all CRL events is put on developing leaders’ understanding and abilities to consistently perceive and meet the relational needs of team-mates and customers.
